Consultancy & Dr Bike

I have a Master of Science degree in Transportation (the science of transport and people movement) and 20 years experience working in the transportation operations and policy area.

Employment in Scottish Local Authorities and in the Scottish Government (lateraly I worked in the Sustainable Transport Team of Transport Scotland), gives me the skills and knowledge to assist local interest groups, community councils and community based initiatives to formulate bids and submissions to local authorities, Government agencies and Cycling Scotland.

I am keen to discuss any opportunities that groups may wish to pursue and am willing to discuss with groups, who have the foundation of a cycling promotion idea, how this could be taken forward and chances of success maximised.

Dr Bike

I am an experiences Dr Bike! I am currently Dr Bike for Fife Council and SUSTRANS I Bike. In my time trading, I have easily repaired and adjusted over 4,000 bikes at a diverse range of events, meaning that many bikes that were unsafe and difficult to ride, were brought up to a standard that is fit for use.

Contact me to discuss my inexpensive Dr Bike service where your group or employees will get basic adjustments, new cables, brake blocks and inner tubes for free.

Lochgelly High School use me to maintain their Specialised bike fleet that take the punishment only Lochgelly bairns can dish out as they gonzo about the Meedies!

Dr Bike at University of Abertay and Dundee University in 2012 saw me sort out the hack bikes of students - always a pleasure. In 2015 I was at Fife College campus in Kirkcaldy. Perhaps your company would offer employees such a service at your office or factory?

Dr Bike in action.

2024 bookings being taken!

There are many ways to provide Dr Bike and all have my public liability insurance cover, so get in touch if you want to discuss how I can assist.

Previously I did Dr Bike for the SUSTRANS I Bike project, to assist with the Big Pedal. Usually 60 bikes a day are repaired, so children can pedal to school and back on a bike that is safe, fitted to them and works properly. See the Fife Free Press coverage of I Bike in Kirkcaldy!
