For many adults returning to cycling after a few years away, the traffic conditions on local roads can be frightening and put you off using the bike.  These feelings of roads being unsafe and drivers not taking care and paying attention towards cyclists, can be easily dispelled once you gain confidence in road use and practical skills to use junctions and roundabouts, and be an aware and skilled bicycle user.

I can teach you these skills.  See my certificates to deliver cycle training here.

Time and cost are dependant upon your recent bicycle use and your experience of local road conditions; so I will assess these and then discuss and agree options with you, but as a guide I will charge around £35 for one hours tuition and supply diagrams and notes to remind you of what you learn.

Unable to ride a bike?  Its something adults take as a given, but if the answer is yes, I can teach you.

In the 6 years I have traded, I have trained over 50 adults, in all corners of Fife, to be confident and competent cyclists, equipped with the skills to cycle safely and to stay safe. As well as Bikeability through schools, by personal recommendation I have tutored many children of all ages to be safer and more confident on road cyclists.

I am actively involved in CycleStart – Fife Council’s cycle ride initiative - and am trained by them to lead rides.  I participate regularly in the Dunfermline rides.

I am a SUSTRANS ranger for my local section of National Cycle Route 76 here in Aberdour and work closely with SUSTRANS on a number of local issues.

I am also active in Bikeability, or as it used to be known Cycle Proficiency.  Dalgety Bay, Donibristle, Aberdour and Kinghorn Primary Schools have benefited from my training.
